Ch. Theocharis: This is how the vaccination certificate will work – Best year in 2021 for tourism

The Minister of Tourism, Haris Theocharis, spoke about the vaccination certificate in THEMA 104.6, among others. He confirmed that it will be used in our country and, as he said, in Europe they are oriented in the same direction as revealed by the President of the Commission Ursula von der Leyen, who admitted the necessity of the certificate.

As the minister explained, the certificate will have the name of the holder, consolidated with the date he received the vaccine and its expiration. That is, the duration of immunity based on studies. In the beginning, as Mr. Theocharis said, he will be quite conservative regarding the duration of immunity.

Speaking about myths that are heard regarding the certificate, he stressed that no hotel will be able to refuse hospitality if someone does not have the vaccine. Prerequisite for someone to travel to our country will be the negative molecular test or the certificate of vaccination. In fact, if someone does not want to show their vaccination certificate, they can just have the negative test. While, he noted that personal data is protected in any case.

Haris Theocharis, speaking about this year, expressed his optimism for tourism. As he said, he considers that it will be a better year this year than it was in 2020. While he estimated that the situation may be better after Easter.
