Paros is the third largest island of the Cyclades and is located west of Naxos, from which it is separated by a narrow channel about 3 miles wide, while it is 90 nautical miles from Piraeus.
The coasts of the island form beaches (mainly on its eastern side) and natural harbors, while others are steep and rocky. On its northern side is the large bay of Naoussa, a natural harbor. The other two large bays of the island are located in the west (Parikia) and in the east (Marmara). The main capes of Paros are: Agios Fokas [4] in the port of Parikia where there is a lighthouse, Korakas [5] at the northern end where there is the traditional stone lighthouse built in 1887, Turchos (or Turkos), east of the previous one, Agria at the northeastern end, directly opposite Naxos, Stafida, Vigla, and Pyrgos or Pyrgaki to the east-southeast, and Mavros Kavos at the southernmost end of the island.

Paros is surrounded by numerous islets and islets, such as the dangerous Portes Paros, Agios Spyridonas, Drosonissi, Makronissi, Glaropoda, Pateronissi, Fiji and Evriokastro (or Vriokastro).

The main ports of Paros are: Parikia, Naoussa (ancient Argousa, a military port) between Capes Korakas and Tourchos, and the port of Drios, also called Porto Trio, to the south. Other smaller bays are Filizios to the east, Kefalos to the west, Piso Livadi to the southeast, and Aliki to the southwest. On the island there are both isolated and organized beaches, with rocks, pebbles or sand.

Inland, the island is crossed from north to south by four bare mountains, whose highest peaks are Prophet Elias (776 m.), Marpissa and Stroumboulas (730 m.). It does not have many spring waters and most of the existing ones are located in the area of Dryos.
