Informed of the loss of Christos Politis, the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni made the following statement:
It was with great sadness that I learned of the loss of Christos Politis, who left behind a fruitful career spanning decades in Art, serving it with zeal and selflessness. For the general public, Christos Politis may remain identified with his long and daily presence on television: a demanding role, which he served with professionalism and dedication. Christos Politis was, however, much more. The graduate of the National Theatre School with a solid theatrical background, which allowed him from a young age to stand worthy alongside the “greats” of the field and to compete with classical texts. A tireless worker of the theater, as a performer and as a co-creator, together with Antonis Antipas, of the “Simple Theater”, the innovative group that for years offered high-quality performances of leading works of the modern Greek and international repertoire. An actor with selective and distinct film appearances. And, always, a modest servant of the Arts, who despite his recognition, did not seek useless and unnecessary promotion, nor did he associate with this his long career on stage and screen, small and large.
I extend my sincere condolences to his family and friends.
