PRESS RELEASE
GEORGE AFTIAS “National issues and everyday life on the front line”
Member of the European Parliament George Aftias, speaking at the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, thanked all his European colleagues who enthusiastically supported the financing of the external borders of Europe, including the Greek borders. “This is happening for the first time. Specific funds will be provided, an issue that directly concerns our homeland and our borders”.
George Aftias stressed, among other things, that “the EU budget that we are voting on is important, because it addresses and strengthens the construction of infrastructure on the external borders of Europe and directly the Greek ones”.
The Greek MEP also pointed out “that we must now decide on immediate solutions for the needs of the citizens of our countries. To insist on the big issues such as, accuracy, housing, cheap heating, cheaper electricity, education and health”.
And he concluded “this is how we must act because we have an obligation to our people and to the citizens who sent us here to find solutions to their problems”.
