The Board of Directors regards the payment of the salary for the month of June as a positive event and requests a meeting with the president of SYRIZA again
ESIEA sent a letter to the president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis, regarding the payment of the June salary to SYRIZA’s media workers.
The Board of Directors of the Union of Editors points out in its letter that any discussion regarding the future of historical media, but also the lives of dozens of employees, cannot but be done in clear and institutional terms and at the same time reiterates the request for an urgent meeting with the president of SYRIZA himself, or with his representatives, who will be authorized to convey the exact positions and intentions of the main shareholder of the newspaper “I Avgi”, the website “Avgi.gr” and the radio station “Sto Kokkino 105, 5” and therefore they will have the role of institutional interlocutors.
In detail, the letter from the Board of Directors of ESIEA states:
“Dear Mr. President,
The ESIEA Board of Directors appreciates the fact that today, after several days of mobilization and institutional pressure, the salary for the month of June is being paid to the employees of the SYRIZA media. Also, yesterday’s decision of the Political Secretariat of SYRIZA P.S. it sets out, as we had urged, an economic framework for the party’s intentions in relation to the media in which it is the main shareholder, although there are still many unclear points.
Dear Mr. President,
Any discussion regarding the future of historical media, but also the lives of dozens of employees, can only be done in clear and institutional terms. Once again, therefore, we repeat our request for an urgent meeting with you or with your representatives, who will be authorized to convey the exact positions and intentions of the main shareholder of the newspaper “I AVGI”, the website “AVGI.GR ” and of R/S “STO KOKKINO 105.5″ and therefore they will have the role of institutional interlocutors.
The fact that until now you have not responded to this request goes against the terms of good faith dialogue as defined by the legislation but also by the political and moral attitude that is appropriate for a party that sets as a principle position the defense of labor rights”.
