Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff has called on US President Joe Biden to withdraw his candidacy in the November election, allowing another Democrat to defeat Republican nominee Donald Trump.

“A second Trump presidency would undermine the very foundations of our democracy, and I have serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump in November,” the 64-year-old California congressman said in a statement reported by the Los Angeles Times. .

So far, 19 members of Congress and one Democratic senator have publicly called on President Biden to withdraw from the race.
