The International Tourism Fair, ITB Berlin NOW 2021 has been completed

With 239 exhibitors from Greece and three from Cyprus, the International Tourism Fair, ITB Berlin NOW, was held on 09.-12.03.2021, fully digitally organized by the Berlin Exhibition Organization, which is represented in Greece by the Hellenic-German Commercial and Industrial Chamber.

The exhibition was greeted by the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Haris Theocharis, in a video against the backdrop of the Acropolis, while the official presentation of the digital pavilion of EOT was made by teleconference by the President of EOT, Mrs. Angela Gerekou and G.G. of EOT Mr. Dimitris Fraggakis.

It is worth noting that ITB Berlin is a reliable indicator of the evolution of the size of the tourism industry and an essential networking platform for one of the largest industries in the world, in which Greece and Cyprus play a leading role.

65,700 users gathered at ITB Berlin NOW, with 66% of them coming from abroad, confirming the slogan of the exhibition “The digital Meet-up for the Travel Industry. Anytime. Anywhere.”

ITB Berlin NOW gave participants a unique virtual meeting place in one of the most difficult times of the last decades, where 80% of participants used networking opportunities, which included business meetings, web chats and business partner search tools.

In total, the exhibitors reached 3,513, who represented destinations, hotel chains and technology companies from 120 countries and used ITB Berlin NOW to present their products and services, while the interest of the media was strong as well as 1,100 media representatives and travel bloggers from 54 countries, who covered the event live.
