During their meeting, they discussed, among other things, issues of bilateral parliamentary cooperation.

At the same time, both sides expressed the desire to further strengthen this cooperation.

The President of the Greek Parliament and the Russian Ambassador also discussed the Year of Greek-Russian History, as it has been declared 2021, a year which coincides with the celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the Greek Revolution.

It was also underlined that the Year of Greek-Russian History is another proof of the close connection of the historical paths of the Russian and Greek people.

Maslov: Greece and Russia to continue cooperation
A few days ago, with an article on his website “Athens 9.84”, the Ambassador of Russia Andrei Maslov made a flashback to historical moments and decisions that “reflect” his country’s help in the Greek struggle, while he also referred to our excellent relations. which are based on “unique historical links”.

“Our goal is to preserve this heritage and to continue on the solid foundations of common history fruitful cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of our countries,” he stressed.
As Mr. Maslov characteristically notes, Russia played an important and decisive role in the Greek Revolution, according to Greek and Russian scientists.
