This development means a lot to Greece:
Out of the 36 billion of the total package, we have received 21.3 billion and there are still 14.7 billion euros remaining, which will be disbursed by 2028.
The implementation of all projects that are in progress will continue, an issue that is also a permanent position of Greece.
This decision expresses the strong position of the European Parliament to support all countries that wish to continue supporting projects for roads, hospitals, schools, social benefits, housing, but also financing of businesses.
Greece can easily complete the conditions for the execution of the projects.
The decision leaves a window for the expansion of existing projects based on objective, clear and fair evaluation criteria.
Our country can prioritize a system of priorities after the 2026 deadline, in order to enable the completion of ongoing projects.
This decision is a guide for the Finance Ministers, who must follow the path opened by the European Parliament. The Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee sends the final text to the Plenary and this to the Council of the European Union for the final decision.
